Our History

“Shiloh will be a Beacon of Light” Reverend William J King, Founding Pastor

The Beginning

On November 21, 1976 under the inspiration of Holy Spirit, Reverend William J. King along with the 12 original members voted to name Shiloh Baptist Church. Shiloh became the first designated African American Church established in Vacaville Ca.

We give recognition to the pastors whose faithful leadership has been instrumental in the progress of Shiloh.

With God’s Blessings, in 1998, Shiloh moved from 501 Elizabeth street to its current location at 185 Chandler Street.

Ministries at Shiloh are designed to promote salvation and faith, heighten worship and praise, win souls and perform biblical teaching. The church has numerous ministries, departments, auxiliaries, and committees that commit time and service to give glory, honor and praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In 2011 Rev. John B. Black was appointed as the pastor of Shiloh and we entered into a new season. His motto was:  The Bible is our Sole Authority.  He reminded the church that the bibles states, where there is no vision, the people perish.  (Proverbs 29:18).  In October 2014, Rev. Gregory Mack, Shiloh’s Youth Pastor, was appointed as the Interim Pastor of Shiloh.

On March 2, 2016, Reverend Gregory Mack was appointed as the pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church.  We will continue to think strategically about how individuals, families, communities, and members of Shiloh can be poised for the future – to make a lasting impact for the sake of the gospel in our city, and to continue building a rich legacy for decades to come. The work of God brings about renewal and we hope to see His renewing work imprinted deep within us as we continue to move forward by faith.
